気づき・感じたこと

今日はいつもどおり複数のNHK英語教材に取り組んだ。
ただ、「ラジオビジネス英語」だけは、始める前からかなりのストレスを感じていた。
とうとう「一旦やめようかな？」とまで考えた。

とはいえ、4月から難易度が下がる可能性があるし、すでに4月分のテキストも購入している。
だから、真剣度を大幅に下げて、聞き流しで軽く触れ続ける方針にする。

英語学習を始めた当初は、どの教材もビジネス英語と同じくらい意味がわからなかった。
でも続けたことで、他の教材はだいぶ楽に感じるようになった。
半年後には、ビジネス英語も楽しめるようになっているかもしれない――そう信じたい。

ただ、現時点では難易度C1〜B2はやはり背伸びしすぎ。
しかも内容が「海外の銀行の取引」など、自分の生活と無関係すぎて共感できず、
出てくる単語にも興味が持てないのが、しんどさに拍車をかけている気がする。

それとは対照的に、Netflixで観ている『カンフー・パンダ』は英語音声＋英語字幕でも楽しい。
ストーリーが面白いから、たとえ分からないところがあっても「楽しく観れる」。

今日はVRChatには行かず、早めに休むことにした。
今日もお疲れ様、自分。

Thoughts and reflections

I studied multiple NHK radio programs today as usual.
But I felt a lot of stress just thinking about starting Radio Business English.
I even thought, “Maybe I should quit for a while.”

Still, I already bought the April textbook, and there’s a chance the level will be easier.
So I’ve decided to listen casually without pressure from now on.

When I first started studying English, all the materials felt just as hard as Business English.
But now, thanks to continuous effort, most of them feel much easier.
Maybe in six months, I’ll be able to enjoy Business English too — that’s my hope.

That said, the current level is clearly C1 to B2 — a bit too much for me now.
Also, the content is about foreign banking transactions, which feels totally unrelated to my life.
That makes it even harder to stay engaged or interested in the vocabulary.

On the other hand, I’m enjoying “Kung Fu Panda” on Netflix, even with English audio and subtitles.
The story is so entertaining that I can enjoy it even when I don’t understand everything.

Tonight, I didn’t join VRChat.
Just going to rest early.
