映画紹介：『カンフー・パンダ』（Kung Fu Panda）
『カンフー・パンダ』は2008年に公開されたドリームワークス製作のアニメ映画です。
舞台は中国のような架空の世界で、主人公は太っちょでドジなパンダのポー。
ラーメン屋の息子だった彼が、ひょんなことから伝説の“ドラゴン・ウォリアー”に選ばれ、kung fu の達人になるべく修行を積んでいきます。
声優にはジャック・ブラック（Po役）、ダスティン・ホフマン（シーフー）、アンジェリーナ・ジョリー（タイガス）など豪華キャストが出演。
アクションあり、笑いあり、そしてちょっぴり感動もあるファミリー向け映画です。
この映画を選んだ理由
英語学習の一環として映画を観るなら、どうせならクオリティの高い作品を選びたいと思いました。
ドリームワークスの作品ならストーリーも映像も期待できるし、きっと面白いだろうという信頼感がありました。
中でも『カンフー・パンダ』は以前から名前を知っていて、英語学習にもちょうど良さそうだと感じて選びました。
英語字幕・英語音声で観た感想
正直に言うと、セリフはほとんど聞き取れませんでした。
特に短いセリフの中にも知らない単語が多く、聞こえていても意味がわからないことが多かったです。
でも、アクション映画ということもあって、シュレックシリーズよりもストレスなく観ることができました。
セリフの量も少なめなので、「英語学習になったか」と言われると微妙ですが、単純に映画としてとても楽しめました。
英語学習としての気づき
今回の映画では、セリフの意味はよくわからなかったものの、「あ、この単語どこかで聞いたことがある」と思う場面がたくさんありました。
まだ“点と点”がつながっている感覚はありませんが、確実に新しい“点”が増えていることは実感しています。
今すぐに効果が出なくても、長い目で見れば英語学習につながっているはずだと思い、これからも地道に点を打ち続けていきたいです。
まとめと次に観たい作品
『カンフー・パンダ』は、英語がまだ得意でなくてもストーリーが楽しめて、英語学習にもなるおすすめ映画です。
シュレックシリーズはすでに全部観たので、次は『ミニオンズ』や『マダガスカル』など、同じくテンポが良くて楽しめそうなアニメ映画を観てみたいと思っています。

Why I Chose This Movie
Since I’m using movies as part of my English learning, I wanted to choose a high-quality one.
DreamWorks has a strong reputation for entertaining stories and great animation, so I had high expectations.
I already knew the name Kung Fu Panda, and it seemed like a good fit for language learning too.
Impressions with English Subtitles and Audio
To be honest, I couldn’t understand most of the dialogue.
Even short sentences were packed with unfamiliar words, so even when I heard the words, I didn’t know what they meant.
However, since it’s an action movie, I found it less stressful to watch than the Shrek series.
There were fewer lines overall, so I’m not sure how much it helped my English learning, but I really enjoyed the movie as entertainment.
English Learning Takeaways
Even though I couldn’t understand the meaning of many lines, I often felt, “Oh, I’ve heard that word somewhere before.”
It still feels like the dots aren’t connected yet, but I do feel like I’m collecting more and more dots.
I believe that in the long run, all of this will add up, so I want to keep going and continue placing those dots one by one.
